Life as we know it

People talk about meaning of life, things like why we are here, what's the purpose of our existence and our connection with the universe, they are rightful and true in their pursuit of higher place of existence from where they can scrutinize life more closely, but i'd say these people, these higher beings are rare. For most of us mortal beings, the intricacies of our life are more intriguing and more engaging than the wild chase towards something meaningful.

Most of our lives follow a set pattern, there would be high and lows, spikes up and down but over the long run it all averages out, some of us are highly successful either professionally, personally or in relationships, so there is spike in one's life graph that settled one at higher plane of existence for that particular parameter, doesn't matter -  one will still experience high and lows relative to that plane and it doesn't end, the tides will never settle down, some call it beauty of life, some call it vileness but yes that's life.

Most of us go with the flow, some peacefully while others kicking and screaming, but most of the time we follow the path set out for us by others, knowingly or unknowingly. One thing I've learned about us is we hate making decisions, we're not born decision makers, we have to learn it and most of the times the tough way, we make wrong decisions all the time and most of the time we're too proud to accept that we went wrong, we being taught to be optimists, taught to think that whatever happens happens for good, vehemently defend our decisions with the power of argument bestowed upon ourselves by the creator. Most of these decisions doesn't affect our lives in drastic ways so they are harmless even if we get them wrong on consistent basis.

In the middle of all this there are times in our lives when we have to take crucial decisions, the decisions that will decide what plane our life will settle on, some of us delay them as long as we can, some on the other hand, rush through them while the others let others take these decisions for them, very few are wise enough to take a measured approach to decision making, but from experience even they aren't any better. We then spend our entire lives grappling with the outcomes of these decisions, struggling to understand where we went wrong but defending them at the same time, people irrespective of being successful in one or many spheres of life still have regrets, still have their struggles and we think about these all the time. This is our life, we're too busy with life to think about it.

So what in the end, are we all, or at least most of us are doomed, incarcerated by our bad choices and destined to be unhappy, might be but there is light at the end of tunnel, we humans are excellent at adaptability, we learn to live, we learn to be happy whatever the circumstances, our happiness doesn't depend on our height of the plane of our existence or the success we have achieved in life, it depends only on us whether we want to be happy or not. We're all the same, sailing in same boat and breathing the same air, what differs is our attitude and perspective in life. This is what keeps us going through best of the times and difficult times like these.
